ABOUT THE ART
This piece is a visual ode, "Fo Erbody Blk." The ingredients of colors dance in harmony as a reflection of what it means to admire the black cultural characteristics. I focused on who/what I am surrounded by and what appreciates me. I chose the woman, the "black woman," and extracted key elements from that which raised me culturally. The subject is covered by a representation of colors that signify a great history of my people. I began to think about what I watched and listened to (hip-hop, soul, gospel, trap) foods I ate during the time I was piecing together this work.
