In 2021, we opened the doors of our first location in Elizabeth, New Jersey with the goal of creating a platform where sistahs could showcase their products and services in a retail setting. In 2022, we opened our second location in Atlanta, GA at beautiful Atlantic Station.
Over the last three years, we've featured the brands of close to 500 sistahs in business on our shelves and as weekend pop-up vendors, many of whom have gone on to be featured in major retailers and scale significantly. We are grateful for the impact The Sistah Shop has had on the brands we partner with, and on the thousands of customers who have entered our "Sanctuary of Sistahood." Many leave in awe and inspired by our unique retail experience.
Despite our many efforts to stay afloat in this difficult economy, we are now at risk of having to close our doors if we can't raise at least $50K in the next 30 days. We humbly ask for your support and partnership to #savethesistahshop.
Saving the Sistah Shop isn't just about saving our one business. Instead, your support allows us to continue featuring the over 100 Black women-owned brands currently on our shelves and ecommerce site. This has always been about our #sistahsinbusiness and never just about us. We are just grateful to be the vessel and vehicle that God is using to grow all of the Black women-owned brands.
Your support of this campaign through purchases of these selected tees, and/or your tax deductible donations, will help us to meet several urgent financial obligations and prepare for a shift in our business model that will make us more sustainable and less susceptible to a struggling economy. We understand that many businesses are struggling and fully understand the plight of current-day entrepreneurship. This is why we have identified a plan to pivot that will position us for better profitability.
Despite the current challenges we are facing, our faith is strong and we are excited about the future of The Sistah Shop. We fully believe that we will recover and soar higher than ever before.
Since the very beginning, it has been YOU, our community, that has supported us, encouraged us, and motivated us. While we've received countless "no's" from corporations and entities who say they support Black women in Business, it has been our sistahs and brothas who have said "yes" time and time again. And for each of you, we are eternally grateful.
