In West Africa women wear waistbeads to read their bodies. Our bellies expand from the gut up, so if the beads roll up after you tie them right above your belly button, you are bloating or gaining weight. If they drop down towards your hips, you have lost weight.
So your beads will dance up and down your waistline, while making you feel feminine and beautiful in the process.
